The largest line of latitude is the equator. There are 13 countries to which equator passes through, namely, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Uganda, Kenya, Maldives, Indonesia, Somalia, Republic of the Congo, etc.
2. The Tropic of Cancer: Location
We all know that both Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn is found at 23.5 degrees latitude. The only difference is that Tropic of Cancer is located at the north of the equator with 23.5 degrees ‘’N’’. It passes through various countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Mexico, the Bahamas, and Southern China.
3. The Tropic of Capricorn: Location
We all know that Tropic of Capricorn is found at the South of the equator with 23.5 degrees ‘’S’’. It passes through various countries such as southern Brazil, Australia, Chile and northern South Africa. The only country that passes through the equator and Tropic is Brazil.
4. Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn: Reason behind the location
There is a reason why Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn is located at north and south of the equator respectively. They are found at 23.5 degrees N and S of the equator. Due to the earth’s revolution around the sun, the earth’s axis is tilted at 23.5 degrees.
5. Relation between Equator, Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn
The three imaginary lines signify the relationship between Earth and the sun. The tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn are two imaginary lines where the sun appears above our head. This happens on June 21 and December 21 respectively.
The sun is directly above our head at Tropic of Cancer on June 21. It occurs on December 21 at Tropic of Capricorn when the sun is directly above our head.
